NYFW Recap Part 2

Although it’s taken longer than I expected I’m finally sitting down to complete my recap of my trip to New York Fashion Week. Even though it’s been over for some time now, it never gets old reliving all of the amazing memories and experiences that I had while I was there. As you will see in this post days 3, 4, and 5 were very exciting and action-packed. So without further ado, here is the second half of my experience at New York Fashion Week!

Jill Stuart

The first thing on the agenda for day three was the Jill Stuart presentation and I’m so happy that I was able to see her beautiful designs! They were both elegant and classic and I was absolutely obsessed with all of the ruffles. Many of the pieces were covered in intricate embroidery and the attention to detail was impeccable. I also love the makeup looks that they created on the models and how they perfectly accented each look. This designer chose to show her pieces as a presentation as opposed to the standard runway show and I loved the different perspective it gave the viewers. After the models walked to their positions we were able to walk around each display and look at each piece up close and photograph all of the models. I loved the way that the show was more interactive than usual.

ShopStyle Social House

After this show we made our way over to Chelsea for the event that ShopStyle hosted. This was easily one of my favorite events from the entire week! The event had so many different things to do and I got to meet so many fun people. There was a makeup and hair station for touch-ups, a juice bar, a champagne bar, and they also provided clothes and accessories for everyone to borrow. They also had a Gigi New York pop-up where we were all gifted a personalized leather file folder which was such a fun experience! The biggest bonus was all of the adorable picture opportunities that were scattered around their gorgeous light-filled space.

After leaving the ShopStyle event we headed back to the main venue for the last two shows of the evening- Georgine and Francesca Liberatore. Georgine was such a stunning show which was executed perfectly. The designs were a perfect mix of elegance and edge. I loved how they styled the model’s hair in an edgier way while keeping the designs feminine and soft. The textures all flowed beautifully with lots of lace and fur.

Francesca Liberatore

The designs behind the Francesca Liberatore show were both intriguing and beautiful. I loved how structured most of the pieces were and the way that they were combined with flowier options to highlight the contrast. The colors were perfect and really made me excited for fall fashion! I love all of the muted purple and blue tones that came down the runway.

The first show of Day 4 was VERDAD. I was so obsessed with all of the designs that VERDAD featured in their Fall/Winter collection. I loved the masculine pieces such as the heavy overcoats, button-down shirts and dark colors. There were so many stunning designs that it was hard to choose my favorites! I also loved that they incorporated a lot of prints such as plaid and stripes. The hair and makeup was perfectly complimentary to each look.

Custo Barcelona

Custo Barcelona was such an amazing show and I loved everything about it. Everything from the production to the designs to the makeup and hair was absolute perfection! I also have to say that this was one of the the ONLY shows that I attended during fashion week that actually started on time (it’s the little things!) which made it feel super organized and put together. I loved the metallic accents that were included in a lot of the looks, and the colors were so gorgeous. I also loved the shoe choices for this show- they were all very exotic but yet they didn’t take away from the outfits.

Katty Xiomara

I was so in love with everything that Katty Xiomara had in her fall/winter line that she displayed at fashion week. The overall theme was maritime related with lots of blue tones combined with ruffles and bows. I also loved the heavy accent on prints including polka dots. I definitely noticed that polka dots will be a big trend come fall and winter and I can’t wait! Also, can we talk about the print on those overalls?! I’m obsessed!

Sherri Hill

For my last show of fashion week I was lucky enough to be able to attend the Sherri Hill show. I can assure you that she definitely did not disappoint! I actually wanted to take each look home with me. The evening and formal wear pieces were all classic + modern all at the same time. I loved the way that she incorporated new ideas such as two pieces and cropped tops that were still just as formal and evening wear-appropriate. Her show was definitely a great way to wrap up my week!

So there you have it- my week at NYFW recap is finally complete! I’m so grateful to be invited and each and every show was such a pleasure to attend. It was definitely a learning experience and I plan to share all of my tips in a separate post in the future so stay tuned for that. Thanks so much for following along with my experience and I hope you all have an amazing weekend!
